We ordered two of these batteries as replacements for silver batteries that we had been using and recharging for years in our Dustbuster 7.2v. We charged these new gold batteries for at least 24 hours before using them, but they still drained within only a few seconds -- fewer than 10 seconds. In spite of repeated attempts to charge the batteries, both in the Dustbuster and in the external charger, on only one occasion did the Dustbuster function for more than 5-10 seconds.

I have been using the Versa-pak powered tools for years, and though they are underpowered by todays's standards, they still do the job. These packs are expensive, but they are well made and long lasting, and if you want to continue to use the B&D tools, you have to have them. I recommend the gold over the standard, they give you a longer time between charges.

Here is my experience. I purchased a Black and Decker blower which is powered by these batteries. Followed the instructions on charging and had good results for the first 10 - 12 months of use.

Now, I'm held at ransom every week by these batteries. I live in FL and depend on them heavily to get rid of the clippings on the sidewalk and the road.

If they are not charged right up to the minute before needing them, they are unable to to do the job.

This is my third battery that I have purchased. They come in the mail fast as promised. From experience, they work great the first year; they hold a good charge and their power last for about 30 minutes of continuous work. This product is good for small jobs. Example, zero-lot yards or blowing off small porches. However, for larger yards, I would recommend an electric powered blower, or a gas powered blower.

after searching in several stores for a new charger i was able to get the one i have now from amazon on line under batteries and chargers found it was almost half the price from anywhere else i have had the ps1mvc 8.4 Volt to 14.4 volt seems to charge the batteries in about an hour for each one the batteries do need to be charged for more then an hour to get longer working life from them but this one is a good one highly recomend it to anyone who needs a better charger then the one that comes with the product new black&decker needs tyo put one in each new drill combo set save time and headaches for the customers i use the charger everyday and so far it works great we will see how it holds up in thelong run.

I don't usually do reviews but I love my alligator chain saw. We have 5 acres and lots of yard work to do. My father has a regular chain saw but I can't even lift that. Plus, it's pretty dangerous. I've always used hand loppers and a hand saw if I need to cut a tree or branch. It's tedious work. These things slice through most things under 3 or 4 inches even plants that are hard as a rock like cedar. It's a little bit heavier than I'd like but I can manage it. I can now prune a butterfly bush with all the hard dead branches in minutes. Adding oil can be a pain but it's better than having to use gas too. Don't use it to prune leafy bushes with small pieces as those will jam up and require cleaning it out. Read all the directions. If you have a lot of yard work and need help, you need this. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made.

We've used these filters in our DustBuster for several years. With a little care, such as occasionally blowing it out with air or tapping on sidewalk, they have very long life. On impulse, I took apart our Dustbuster to clean it up. The filter was *way* past its prime--completely gunked up and not looking much better after some intensive cleaning/brushing. So I went on amazon, found the replacement part I needed, ordered it with amazon prime, and 2 days later put in the new filter. Amazing! I had forgotten how much power our Dustbuster actually had! Bought this to clean up all the little messes that my little ones make. It does a good job, easy to empty. I have not had a reason to use the attachments but I didn't buy it for that. The only con is that the charge doesn't last that long so if you're doing multiple jobs you have to stop and charge.
