I have owned a ton of electric screw drivers. It is the best. I have used this guy all day on one battery. Is very powerful. I put up cabinets in my garage and had to screw into studs and this guy handled it without any problems. It has a high speed for drilling and then a slower speed with more power for screws.

I'd not be so happy with it if it were full price! It's a small, light, and lightweight lithium ion powered screwdriver. Works well, but it is quite plasticky. I also got the small reciprocating saw on sale using the VPX batteries. A good second set of tools, for light jobs.

When I received this as an xmas present I was excited. I use a regular cordless drill for installing screws a lot and I thought this would be a compact alternative. I never imagined that it wouldn't have a clutch or a variable speed trigger. I wish I would gotten a gift receipt, because without those two features I can't imagine ever using this unit. I don't suppose I need a clutch or variable speed to drill a hole, but I would just use my drill (this unit only comes with 3 bits anyway). If I was trapped on a desert island without a real drill I would make do with this. If the battery is dead in my real drill I will wait for it to charge rather using this toy.

I've had a lot of powered handtools in the past. The problem is always the darn rechargable cad batteries, they die too fast!. But buy this B&D VPX like I did and I know you'll be happy with it. I promise! Looks great, feels solid, plenty of power, dual torque settings, beautiful, sturdy case and quality bitset included. And it will drill too! Black and Decker, my hat is off to you once again. These VPX batteries hold their charge! I've got two of them and rotate them in the charger. Finally, no more dead electric screwdriver when I need it most!

My first impression of this tool is it looks like a little toy out of a kids toolbox. I would actually give it to a kid if it was not 42 bucks !
The tool is lightweight in a not so good way. Lightweight like cheap.
The trigger once pulled starts the tip turning but when you release it there is no brake so the tip keeps revolving a half to three quarters of a turn. Not for precision work.
Something like this really needs a variable speed trigger. And at this price point it should have one.
After unboxing it went right back in. If you are a homeowner that needs a little screwdriver for putting Ikea stuff together this may work for you.
But me personally I would spend a little extra and get some good quality.
