I bought this based on the portability and generally good reviews. I wish I had gone with another product as this thing is a piece of crap.
I bought this to help with custom cuts to install a laminate floor. I could leave it charging over night, and I could maybe get barely 10 minutes of useful sawing out of it. During the time it worked it was great, but once that 10 minutes was up I'd have to let it charge for several hours or days again in order for it to be powerful enough to cut through the laminate.
The only good thing about this tool, besides being portable was the ease of changing blades. However, after about a month, while still working on the same floor, I was cutting out a small square for a floor outlet. Half way through a straight cut a piece of metal that holds the blade in place simply snapped off. It's this teeny three ponged piece of metal that looks like it would break if the wind blew on it if you could see it. I'm surprised it lasted this long.
I'll be going with a corded tool next time. You get what you pay for... I'd stay away from this if you want to cut anything larger than 1/8".

This saw is seriously underpowered. It is just this side of a toy, and useless for any serious work. However, with that said, it is light weight, cordless, portable, and easy to use. If I need to make a cut in a remote location, at the top of a ladder, in tight quarters, on a quick-and-dirty get-it-done task, etc., this thing is worth its weight in gold.
If I were relying on this to be a great jigsaw for all my cutting jobs, I would be writing a 1-star review (as several reviewers have done.) If I only ever did miniscule cuts once or twice a year, I would be giving it 5-stars. Instead I have chosen 3-stars: 5-stars for what it is good at, and 1-star for what it is bad at. At the end of the day, for a whopping 30 bucks, it is very convenient to have around - just dont make it the only arrow in your quivver.
PS: One reviewer complained about the safety latch. Perhaps that person has small hands? I have no trouble pressing the safty and the "on" button at the same time one handed.

It did EXACTLY what I needed it to do.. cut a hole in the bottom of a banquette so I could install a wall outlet. EXCELLENT!

As an older widow lady I purchased this saw to prune some small trees/brush behind my newly purchased mobile home. Also, I wanted to cut down some thin trees at wood's edge. I have to say that, though it seems many have used this saw for pruning, I was not able to get enough of a grip on the saw to even prune. I don't know that I will have any other opportunities to use the saw, but as a handicrafter, it will be here if and when I need it.
Mainly, I read the reviews and thought it would get my pruning and small-cutting done, but it just didn't cut it for me!
My son will get the job done, but isn't it nice when you don't have to depend on the kids!
If you have multiple possible uses for this saw, it is overall a good saw.

I admit I haven't tried this on thicker wood yet, but seems to be everything I need for small repairs and cutting up tree branches that fall during storms. I love the fact that it is battery operated and I don't have to drag a cord all over the place.
